El Campo is a Home Rule City with an annual budget of $12,587,140, which funds a variety of city services. Our police force includes 31 officers.
In 2008 the El Campo Fire Department celebrated 100 years of service and our fire department is staffed entirely by volunteers, currently 56 outstanding volunteers. Like El Campo’s rescue and ambulance services, our firemen serve both inside and outside of the city.
City zoning is regulated, and El Campo uses a city planning commission to help manage the development of the growing community.
